On the last night of Hanukkah, Grandma makes delicious latkes, using the same recipe her mother and grandmother used. In all those years the recipe hasn’t changed, not one little bit. That is, until the family decides to hold a contest to see who can make the best latkes. Grandma quietly agrees and The Great Latke Cook Off is born.
Mom pours over stacks of cookbooks and shops at a specialty grocer to purchase the fanciest ingredients. Dad takes a more modern approach, researching the internet for the most innovative recipe. Meanwhile, their son makes the blue ribbon, while Grandpa is looking forward to eating the yummy latkes. Grandma, for her part, is not worried and sticks to her old familiar recipe, but will it stand the test of time?
